Party Prep: Dinner Menu Fans

September 17, 2012

I’ve created themed menu fans for a birthday dinner next week. The theme of the celebration is vintage beach. It’s a 60th birthday celebration in Port Douglas, Queensland. The restaurant is set outdoors (under a rainforest canopy), so it will be quite warm and humid. I decided to make these menu fans as they are quite unique and will make great hand fans to keep guests cool. I had to search high and low for the paddle sticks, but eventually found them at party store at my local market (what are the chances).

To create the menu fans, I printed the menu on a piece of plain paper and the palm tree graphic on a second piece of paper. I cut them into the circular shape and inserted the paddle stick between the two sheets and adhered with glue. I used a thin layer wood glue for the base of the paddle and craft glue for the paper. I can’t wait to see them on the table.

Thanks for dropping by,
