Madame Bonbon Is Back!

March 29, 2015
Madame Bonbon: where have you been?

A thousand apologies to you, my friend.  I have been missing in action, but I am back! I took a small break in 2014 and then I had to take another extended break after that! It was mostly down to personal health reasons. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and later with fibromyalgia. These conditions were incredibly painful at the beginning and made life quite uncomfortable until my diagnosis and medication were under control.  I can happily say that I am feeling almost normal again.

In fact, I’m feeling so good that I have bought a vintage Dutch bike and I’m now a regular commuter around the city and to work. My bike is an old Sparta and she is 32 years old.  She migrated from Holland to Melbourne with her original owner in the 80s. Her name is Olive and I’m in love. She is a joy to ride and I’m excited about getting about town in true Madame Bonbon style. 😉

I am back to blogging this week.  You can read about my life in Melbourne, Olive by bicycle and my crafty party decor projects.

1. Whiskey Sours on a Friday night

2. New pretties for cycling from the super fab store in the UK – my London skyline helmet by Bern, ear warmers by Sawako Furuno and gloves from Veeka.

3. We made over 20 DIY bunny cups for Mademoiselle’s class gifts for Easter.

4. I pimped my nails with a red and white half moon polish this week.

I’m so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I loved your website and your style. I found so many parallels between us – this was back in 2013. That is until 2014 when I myself was diagnosed with RA! It was quite the shock, but I must say I lack the innate grace you possess in moving forward. Much love to you.

Thank you so much for your kind words, D. My apologies for the late reply too. You will understand the ups and downs on RA. I do keep a positive attitude and I focus on getting on with life with as much gusto as I can. Take care of you.
