A Fun + Quirky Bachelorette Party

June 4, 2012

Are you planning a bachelorette or hen’s party? Well check out my fun and quirky idea for a party. I should say that this article will probably reveal a little about my abstract thinking when it comes to party styling. I saw this wonderful photo taken by fashion photographer, Christoper Kilkus, on Pinterest and was pinning it to my Smile Booth board when I thought about a fantastic idea for a bachelorette or hen’s party!

A Fun and Quirky Bachelorette Party by Madame Bonbon

I don’t know about you, but the thought of dressing up in a fabulous tutu and celebrating with a bunch of other stylish girls dressed in tutus sounds like my kind of party!  The bachelorette or hen’s party is the perfect occasion to celebrate in a tutu, don’t you think?  So here are a few of my quirky ideas for a fun and gregarious night out for the bride-to-be.

The party theme is... pink tutus.

The invitations should coordinate with the theme. Have some fun and send the girls a Barbie doll dressed in a tutu, tie a small party invitation around her waist and she’s ready to go. If you’re feeling extra creative you could fold the small party invitation into a shape of a handbag. (You can pick up inexpensive Barbie Dolls at major supermarkets for around AU$10.)

The dress code is a pink tutu with whatever top you want to rock it out in. You could really have some fun with this outfit.  I’m thinking a rocking top, pink tutu, striped opaque tights (because it’s winter in Melbourne right now) and a pair of heels or boots. The bride-to-be must have a tiara to top off the whole outfit.

The party starts at  your place with pre-party cocktails and canapes.  You then have the opportunity to warm up the nerves of your less enthusiastic guests and also ensure all the ladies are dressed to theme.

Continue the night at your favourite haunts, play some fun games and dance your little tutus off.

This party theme could be so much fun for a group of ladies wishing to send their friend off in a cheeky but stylish farewell.

Note: Wondering where to get your tutu from?  The worldwideweb is your oyster – check out Tutu Topia in the UK or you could get all the ladies together and make your own over a few glasses of champagne.

Have a wonderful day wherever you are in the world.
