A Chic Beach Wedding

March 8, 2012

Last weekend I attended the wedding of friends, Natalie & Benjamin. They were married at Sandbar Beach Cafe, a lovely seaside cafe situated in Middle Park. Natalie asked me to help style the cafe for her wedding.  She wasn’t sure of a theme for the wedding, so I put together a mood board on Pinterest and we decided on a stylish modern beach theme [think Noosa, Main Beach, Sydney beaches – no tropical flowers, seashells or driftwood for this wedding]. Natalie wanted stylish and simple wedding decor.

The wedding reception was cocktail-style. We set the tables with white lace table runners and placed long-stemmed white roses [arranged in glass bottles] as the centrepieces.  Natalie loved the idea of a photo guestbook, so I styled a table with polaroid cameras, a gorgeous O-Check guest book and cute wedding party bio cards (see below).  The venue and view were spectacular and we didn’t really need to do anything else to the space. In the end, Natalie was really happy with her wedding day, which is all I needed to hear. I took a few quick photos before the wedding guests arrived.  I hope you enjoy them.

Image: The photo guestbook was a hit.  Guests were encouraged to take a photo and write their message beside it in the guest book.  We created these cute “Meet the Party” cards to introduce the wedding party.

Image: Unfortunately it did rain on the day and we had to step in at times to ferry guests from their cars to the cafe.

*Special thanks to Sharon and the team at Sandbar. If you’re interested in holding a function at Sandbar Beach Cafe, then I certainly recommend the venue and their team.  Sandbar is beautifully situated on the beach with uninterrupted views.  The food was delicious, the service team were attentive and friendly.  Our function manager, Sharon, was fabulous and made sure the event ran very smoothly. Visit their website {HERE}  for more information.

Thanks for popping by,
